Hey everyone!  I just wanted to make sure you all saw the promo video clip for the Why We Web conference in June.  Listen to Rob as he is interviewed about using the internet for his ministry and also how he mentions Dr. Dave and how he became convinced that the internet was a key in his own ministry,  Growing Christians Ministries (there is a really nice bio of Dr. Dave on the site that his son posted if you would like to go over and read that)

Christian Evidences Ministries is mourning the loss of beloved brother in Christ, Dr. Dave Reid. He died on January 31, as the result of a skiing accident in Utah. Dave, husband of Margie (Smart) Reid, taught at Emmaus Bible College from 1975-2003. “Dr. Grace,” as he was lovingly named by those who studied with him, introduced the Old Testament to generations of Emmaus students. His Old Testament Walk-Thru remains imprinted on the memories of the students he taught. Dave loved and valued the Scriptures, and he trained his students to shun “bad hermeneutics” and rightly divide the Word of Truth.

His colleagues remember with joy his sense of humor, boundless energy, and sincere love for the Lord. In addition to his ministry at Emmaus, Dave produced Devotions for Growing Christians in radio and print, reaching thousands with practical lessons from the Scriptures.

We rejoice in knowing that Dave is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served with his life. Please remember Dave’s wife, Margie, his children, and grandchildren in prayer.

Dave Reid was a key advisor to Christian Evidences Ministries and mentor to its founder, Rob Sullivan.

We're linking up to a very interesting article from Crown Financial Ministries about the scientific hunt for the so-called "God Particle". Here's a short blurb from the article:

"This infinitesimally small piece of physical matter will likely become a big matter indeed and could impact the lives of Christians globally. For many in the scientific community, the Higgs boson particle is the Holy Grail that will allow modern science to finally and forever trump ancient religious beliefs.

The subatomic speck is theorized to be the basic material on which the entire physical world is built. It is considered the invisible glue of the universe and one of the most mysterious missing components to the assumptions and equations about how the world really works."

I want to thank everyone for praying for my trip - this was the busiest two week stretch of preaching I have ever had.  I spoke something like 28 times in 14 days across 3 different states (Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas), including 3 assemblies (Christian Believers Fellowship in Nashville, West-side Bible Chapel in Tuscaloosa, and Hope Bible Chapel in Birmingham) and 2 Bible Camps (Horton Haven and Sandy Creek).  By the time I was finished, I felt like one of those Great Awakening preachers in the 18th Century who
traveled all over the Colonies preaching the word in season and out of season.

My primary task over this stretch was to speak to the Senior High groups at both Bible Camps.  The topic I chose to speak on was the attributes of God.  Please continue to pray for those who attended, including both campers and staff.  The camps in a lot of ways, represent one last opportunity to touch young lives before they head off to college.  Unfortunately, so many students in college are presented with a worldview that is antithetical to a Biblical one.

Let me encourage any of you who are considering college, to consider Emmaus Bible College.

If you would like a Christ-centered education at a collegiate institution, there is none better.  In that vein, I want to thank Dave Lennox and Matt Lee from Emmaus Bible College who were with me at both camps.  They are fine brothers in the Lord.

Next week, I'll blog about my adventurous flight home and how my plane ended up touching down in a corn field!!

June 4 - 18

During the next two weeks I will be traveling throughout the American Southeast.  I will be visiting some important camp works as well as a few assemblies in the area.  All in all, I will be speaking some 26 times in 13 days.  I couldn't be more thrilled to be with the fine saints in that part of the country - and, to have the opportunity to share from the Scripture the things concerning Christ.  If you are in the vicinity, please stop by and say hello.
