Ebla Tablets provide an eye-witness accounting of events spoken of in Scripture

Uncovered in 1975 in Northern Syria, the Ebla Tablets are the public records and royal archives of the ancient city-state of Ebla. To date some 16,600 tablets have been found dating back to circa 2300 BC.

Akkadian - (Babylonian-Assyrian ancestry language) is the collective name given to the spoken language of those occupying Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennia BC.

Cuneiform - is the name given to the written (pictograph) form of the language.

Biblical Significance:

• Possibly confirms the existence of Eber as mentioned in Genesis 11: 14 (note most likely source of the term "Hebrew") 
• Mentions cities of Sodom and Gomorrah which are spoken of in Genesis 13, 14, 18 and 19
• Speaks about a priestly king ruling Salem (possibly Melchizedek)

The Ebla Tablets corroborate historical events spoken of in the Bible. As a result, we have yet more proof that the Bible is historically accurate.
