The Bible is reliable in its presentation of the Weather (Hydrologic) Cycle

"All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full; to the place from which the rivers come, there they return again." Ecclesiastes 1: 7

 

This seems like old hat to us now, but the concept of evaporation wasn't discovered until the 1700's when Pierre Perrault and Edme Marriote demonstrated that oceanic evaporation was the source of rain clouds and river waters.

Solomon wrote the above verse nearly 1000 years BC.
